Cryo Facials Aftercare: First 48 Hours, Do’s & Don’ts
By CRY-X Cryotherapy | October 20, 2026
Wesley Chapel, Florida | Wiregrass Ranch / The Grove area near the SR 56 and Bruce B. Downs corridor

The single most important rule after your Cryo Facials appointment is simple: keep your skin cool and low-irritation for the first 48 hours. That means no heavy sweating, no heat (hot showers, saunas), gentle cleansing, and skipping strong actives like retinol and exfoliating acids for 48 to 72 hours. Here in Wesley Chapel, the combination of sun and humidity can sneak up on you fast, so aftercare is what protects that tighter, brighter look you came in for.
Our Cryo Facials are 60 minutes ($200) and designed to support skin vitality and reduce the look of aging by using cryotherapy to encourage collagen support, circulation, and a calmer look to the skin. The aftercare below keeps your results on track, especially if you’re heading back out around SR 56, Bruce B. Downs, or The Shops at Wiregrass.
First 24 to 48 hours after a cryotherapy facial: keep it cool, clean, and calm
Quick rule of thumb: if it makes your face hot, redder, or sweaty, pause it for 24 to 48 hours.
Do this right away
- Cleanse gently with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. No scrubs, no cleansing brushes. Pat dry, don’t rub.
- Moisturize with a lightweight, hydrating moisturizer. Think comfort, not “active” ingredients.
- Keep your hands off your face. If you notice a little dryness or texture, don’t pick.
- Drink water and keep the day easy if you can. Hydration supports that refreshed look people love after cryotherapy.
Skip these for at least 24 to 48 hours
- Hard workouts and heavy sweating. Sweat can sting and push irritation, especially in Florida heat.
- Hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, and anything that makes your face flush.
- Retinols, acids, and exfoliants (including “gentle” ones). Give your skin 48 to 72 hours before you restart.
- Makeup for a few hours, ideally until any redness calms down. If you need it later that day, keep it light and avoid heavy, occlusive layers.
If you’re squeezing your appointment into a busy schedule, this is the part that matters most. We see a lot of families and professionals who come in, then head right back out into the Wesley Chapel sun. Plan ahead with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF so you’re not tempted to “make do” with whatever is in the car or gym bag.
Days 3 to 7: how to keep that tighter, brighter cryofacial look
By day three, most people are back to normal routines. But skin still tends to do best with a little restraint. If you’re noticing your face looks smoother and feels firmer, protect that by staying consistent and not overcorrecting with harsh products.
Wesley Chapel reality: humidity plus sunshine is a recipe for sweat and sun exposure even when you “weren’t outside that long.” A hat and SPF usually make the difference in how calm your skin stays that first week.
Keep doing
- Gentle cleansing, especially after being outdoors or after light exercise.
- Moisturizer morning and night, even if you’re oily. Dehydrated skin can look rough fast.
- Daily SPF, and reapply if you’re outside. Florida sun is not forgiving.
Still avoid (or reintroduce slowly)
- Strong peels, aggressive exfoliation, and picking at any dry patches.
- New products you’ve never used before. This isn’t the week to experiment.
- Retinol and chemical exfoliants until you’re at least 48 to 72 hours out, then ease back in (more on that below).
The simple product routine we like after Cryo Facials (no complicated shelf)
After a cryo facial, your skin usually responds best to basics. You don’t need a 10-step routine. You need a calm routine you’ll actually follow.
1) Mild cleanser
Fragrance-free is ideal. Lukewarm water only. If your cleanser leaves you feeling “squeaky, ” it’s usually too stripping right now.
2) Hydrating moisturizer
Look for soothing hydration. Skip anything that tingles or feels “active” for the first couple of days.
3) Broad-spectrum SPF (every morning)
Once any redness calms, apply SPF daily and reapply when you’re outdoors. In Wesley Chapel, it’s the step people skip, then wonder why their skin feels “off” a few days later.
If you’re curious about how long results tend to last and how people keep them going, we broke it down in how long Cryo Facials last and how to extend them.
Normal redness vs “call us today”: when we want to hear from you
A little redness, mild tingling, or a “wake up” feeling right after your cryofacial can be normal, especially if you’re sensitive. What we don’t want you to do is push through symptoms that are getting worse.
