The single most important rule after our 5-minute SubZero session is simple: warm back up gradually and keep moving lightly. Dry off, throw on a layer, take a short walk, and start hydrating right away. It’s a small routine that helps you feel steady, keeps circulation coming back comfortably, and sets you up for the best results, especially on those hot Wesley Chapel afternoons where Florida’s humidity can make you feel “warm” on the outside but still chilled underneath.
Your SubZero aftercare checklist for the first 24 to 48 hours
SubZero uses high pressure CO2 to support fast pain relief and healing through effects we see people come in for every day, including muscle relaxation and an anti-inflammatory, analgesic response. The session itself is quick. What you do right after is what helps you feel good on the drive home and later that night.
Right after you step out: dry off, add a layer, then do 5 to 10 minutes of easy movement like a relaxed walk. We want you warming up, not shocking your system with heat.
Do this today
- Hydrate now and keep it going. Drink water after your session and keep sipping through the rest of the day. In our Florida climate, dehydration sneaks up fast, especially if you’re running errands at The Shops at Wiregrass.
- Keep activity light. Normal walking and gentle mobility are great. If you’re stiff, easy movement usually feels better than sitting still.
- Eat normally. A balanced meal and steady fluids tend to help you feel grounded after cold exposure.
Skip this for the rest of the day (and usually 24 hours)
- Alcohol. We recommend avoiding alcohol the same day. It can work against hydration and can make people feel more lightheaded.
- Hard training. We generally recommend waiting at least 24 hours before strenuous exercise. Light movement is fine, but save the heavy lift, intense cardio, or long tournament-style sessions for tomorrow.
- Hot baths, sauna, steam, or very hot showers right away. Give yourself a little time to rewarm naturally first with clothes and gentle movement. If you want to shower, keep it warm, not scalding, and don’t linger under high heat immediately after.
A lot of people stop in at CRY-X Cryotherapy because we’re easy to get to near SR 56 and Bruce B. Downs. If you’re hopping back into traffic toward Tampa, take two minutes before you leave our parking lot to drink a little water, catch your breath, and make sure you feel steady.
The first week after SubZero: how to stack results
SubZero is a fast session, but most of the “this is really working for me” feedback we hear comes from people who stay consistent and keep the basics tight. We see it all the time with active clients and with people coming in because they’re tired of nagging inflammation.
What to keep doing
- Hydrate daily. If you’re coming in for recovery or soreness, water intake tends to matter as much as the session.
- Move smart. Gentle mobility work, walking, and good sleep habits usually pair well with cryotherapy.
- Pay attention to patterns. If you notice you sleep deeper after cryotherapy, protect that. Earlier wind-down, less late-night scrolling, and steady meals make a difference.
What to avoid if you’re trying to recover
- Back-to-back “beat your body up” days. Cryotherapy supports recovery, but it isn’t a free pass to ignore rest.
- Dehydration plus heat. In Wesley Chapel, a humid afternoon can leave you drained. Add water, add electrolytes if you need them, and don’t wait until you feel thirsty.
Hydration, sleep, and light movement: the “3 habits” that protect your SubZero results
We’re not big on complicated routines. Most people who feel the biggest difference keep it simple and repeatable.
1) Water first
Start with a glass of water after your session, then keep your intake steady. One reviewer talking about CryoSlimming even called out that drinking plenty of water mattered for keeping results. Different service, same rule.
2) Don’t rush the workout
If you want to train, train. Just give your body the 24-hour window we recommend before going all-out. A lot of athletes use cryotherapy regularly, and the ones who do best usually pair it with smart programming, not “go hard every day.”
3) Guard your sleep
We hear “I slept so good” a lot. If you’re one of those people, treat that as part of your recovery plan. Hydrate, eat enough, and keep your evening low-key after your session.
If you’re looking at longer-term options, we also break down ways people combine sessions in our Cryotherapy Treatments & Recovery Packages guide.
When to call us after SubZero (and when it’s just normal)
A little redness, mild tingling, or feeling “charged up” can happen after cryotherapy. Those sensations should fade as you warm back up. What we don’t want is you brushing off something that feels wrong.
Reach out to us if you have prolonged numbness, dizziness that doesn’t settle, fainting, severe pain, or any unusual skin changes. We’ll talk it through and tell you what we want you to do next.
"The guy up front was super helpful, he was really friendly, and he made sure I had water and felt great after my session before I left."
, a first-time client
That’s how we run our place. We’re friendly, we explain what we’re doing, and we don’t rush you out the door. We’re also pet friendly, kid friendly, wheelchair accessible, and we’ve got free parking. Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, and we take card payments and digital wallets.
If you’re in Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, New Tampa, Zephyrhills, or Dade City and you want help mapping out a schedule that fits real life, call us. We’ll keep it simple and realistic, especially if you’re squeezing in a quick stop near Wiregrass Ranch or The Grove.
Quick reminder: SubZero sessions are 5 minutes and $35. If you’re coming in for pain relief or recovery, consistency matters more than going “as cold as possible” one time.

A simple plan for tonight after cryotherapy
If you only remember four things: hydrate, move gently, skip alcohol, and hold off on intense workouts until tomorrow. That combo lines up with what we see work best for recovery, energy, and comfort.
And if something feels off, call us. We’d rather talk to you for two minutes than have you guessing.
